Micro and small enterprises present special challenges in achieving healthier and safer workplaces. Restricted time and resources are frequently highlighted as a barrier to adopting a proactive approach to health and safety management. Moreover, such enterprises may experience difficulty in complying with occupational health and safety legislation and tend to underestimate the risks posed by their workplaces.

The EU has dedicated 2015 to development cooperation and aid to highlight the importance of international development and the key role played by the EU and its member states. As part of the Healthy Workplaces Manage Stress campaign, the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) today launched its e-guide on managing stress and psychosocial risks.

“Ideas for a better Europe” will be pooled by around five thousand young Europeans at a three-day European Youth Event (EYE) at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France, on 9-11 May. Over 200 debates and workshops will enable 16-30 year-olds to air policy issues close to their hearts.
